The love that first descended
The lamp that lit the trees
Lost within my heart defended
Eluded to the life serene

So I sit here waiting
For love to come again
Be held by the light of morning
Knowing night soon will descend

What makes a brilliant red?

I don’t want to pretend

Turrets of stone
Stretch into the sky
Leave them all behind
As the crow flies

Carry me down the river
Take all my cheap ideals
Struck by a nervous quiver
No more reason to hide from what is real
