Joseph Hinds is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tkaronto (Toronto). He is currently studying Sculpture / Installation at OCADU while working as a makeup and prosthetics artist in the Toronto film industry.

Joseph’s makeup designs can be seen in several film and television projects including the recently released feature film “My Animal” directed by Jacqueline Castel and written by Jae Matthews, and the upcoming feature film “Dead Lover,” written and directed by Grace Glowiki.

In his solo practice, Joseph explores the intersection of film, poetry, sound, and sculpture through a queer lens. His first short film and accompanying poetic writing, “PHANTASM: a magic show in three acts,” was published in 2022 for the online and in-print “Issue 003" by ARK Magazine.

His new narrative series for television titled Loved Ones, recipient of the 2020 IPF Developing Packaging Program, is currently in development.
