THE COMING OF THE END
There’s an ephemeral silence
found in loneliness
outside my window, a tree
made visible by the light
swells with life
beyond the leaves
I see the sky
whether or not you believe in love,
the complexities of our desires
make us ache
up close I see that endings
are a process of becoming
SUNSET
all the ways I’m falling
I will tell you of them
take off all your clothing baby
I will tell you something
I wake up it’s morning
all the lights adorning you
everything I feel for you
is heightened by the dawning
~
astronauts have a term called
the overview effect
divine indifference –
that’s the spiritual term
having arrived in space,
the astronauts feel such
immense gratitude
without needing
to be attached
~
men fear ridicule the way
women fear violence
