Manuscript Submissions 2026 (Canada)

Metatron Press is reading for our upcoming publication years. We want to encounter the books you feel compelled to make: work with a voice of its own, a sense of possibility, and something at stake.

We welcome poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, translations, and innovative or hybrid book projects. We’re drawn to writing that is intimate, strange, funny, tender, rebellious, formally adventurous, and emotionally precise. We love a book that changes how we see things. You don’t need to fit neatly into a genre to send us yours.

Founded in 2014 in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal, Metatron is an independent press that has published more than 50 books and brought writers and readers together through more than 70 events. Our catalogue includes Lee Suksi’s The Nerves, winner of a Lambda Literary Award, and Trynne Delaney’s the half-drowned, winner of the Quebec Writers’ Federation’s First Book Prize. Our books reach bookstores through distribution in Canada, the United States, and the UK and Europe. We care deeply about how a book is edited, designed, made, and welcomed into the world.

What to send

• Submit a complete, full-length manuscript through this link. Please follow the form’s prompts and upload your manuscript where requested. We cannot accept submissions for this call by email.
• There are no strict formatting or length requirements. Most Metatron books are approximately 60–160 pages.
• We encourage you to explore our catalogue before submitting to get a feel for our books. We’re interested in work that speaks to our vision while taking it somewhere new.

This is our Canada manuscript call, open to writers residing on Turtle Island, including Canadian citizens and residents.

Submission is free. The optional tip jar helps support the time and care that go into reading; contributing does not affect how your manuscript is considered. Every submission will be considered by our editors.
